Overview

The information in this section is intended to help with basic diagnosis of the cellular phone. Refer to the diagnostic pinpoint tests at the bottom of this section.

For information on the operation of the system, refer to section 419-08 - Cellular Phone in the workshop manual.

Inspection and Verification

. Verify the customer concern.

. Visually inspect for obvious electrical faults.

. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.

. Use the approved diagnostic system or a scan tool to retrieve any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) before moving onto the DTC index.

  Generic scan tools may not read the codes listed, or may read only 5-digit codes. Match the 5 digits from the scan tool to the first 5 digits of the 7-digit code listed to identify the fault (the last 2 digits give extra information read by the manufacturer-approved diagnostic system).

  • Telephone control module read only memory (ROM) fault, program memory failure

  • Telephone control module internal control module failure

  • Charger system circuit short circuit to ground
  • Charger system circuit high resistance

B1D7984 Microphone Input
  • The 'Receive Audio over MOST Test' failed and means that the audio received at the microphone detection point is too low. Microphone fault Harness/connector fault Integrated head unit (IHU) fault Base-plate module (BPM) fault
Check the operation of the microphone by substituting for a known working unit. Refer to the electrical guides and check the microphone (MIC) circuits. renew/repair as necessary. Refer to the warranty policy and procedures manual if a module is suspect.
U002968 Vehicle Communication Bus A Performance
  • Event information
  • MOST resend count exceeded MOST system performance
Carry out the general MOST test in this section and in the approved diagnostic system. Refer to the Network Communications section of the workshop manual.
U040068 Invalid data received
  • Event information
  • Invalid data received An invalid error code has been set by another MOST module
Carry out the general MOST test in this section and in the approved diagnostic system. Refer to the Network Communications section of the workshop manual.
U1A0088 Private Communication Network
  • Communications failure with BT chipset in base plate module
Clear the DTC and retest. If the problem persists, renew the telephone base plate module. Refer to the warranty policy and procedures manual if a module is suspect.
U200152 Reduced System Function
  • Bluetooth error - System not activated
Carry out the general MOST test in this section and in the approved diagnostic system. Refer to the Network Communications section of the workshop manual.
U200168 Reduced System Function
  • Event information - temperature over 70°C established Not a fault condition. System operation suspended while system cools.
This Event is triggered if the ECU reduces the level of functionality, to prevent over heating of the system. It is a normal function of the ECU and is not a fault. Clear/ignore this DTC.
U20019A Reduced System Function
  • Event information - base plate module (BPM) temperature over 70°C established Not a fault condition. System operation suspended while system cools.
This Event is triggered if the BPM reduces the level of functionality, to prevent over heating of the system. It is a normal function of the ECU and is not a fault. Clear/ignore this DTC.
U201A54 Control Module Main Calibration Data
  • Local configuration file is missing (not loaded) in the control module
Configure the module using the approved diagnostic system.
U30004A Control Module
  • Audio unit data memory failure
Check the power and ground circuits to the component. Refer to the electrical guides. Refer to the warranty policy and procedures manual if a module is suspect.
U300044 Control module
  • Base plate module (BPM) RAM fault (data memory failure leading to possible corrupt local configuration file)
Configure the module using the approved diagnostic system and download the local configuration file. Clear the DTC and retest. If the problem persists, renew the BPM. Refer to the warranty policy and procedures manual if a module is suspect.
U300045 Control module
  • Base plate module (BPM) ROM fault (data memory failure leading to possible corrupt local configuration file)
Configure the module using the approved diagnostic system and download the local configuration file. Clear the DTC and retest. If the problem persists, renew the BPM. Refer to the warranty policy and procedures manual if a module is suspect.
U300054 Control module
  • MOST not configured correctly - incorrect voice language installed
Configure the module using the approved diagnostic system.
U300056 Control module
  • One or more of the received car configuration file (CCF) data parameters is deemed to be invalid
Configure the module using the approved diagnostic system.
U300316 Battery Voltage
  • Battery voltage below threshold
Check vehicle battery and charging system. Refer to the relevant section in the workshop manual. Refer to the electrical guides and check the power supply circuits to the module.
